So I should know better about going to have barbecue that I donβt make, but I tried it anyway and I really had high hopes for this place and it has a really cool atmosphere. So I ordered the brisket and received pulled pork not really a big deal because I like both, but my annoyance is the fact that the pulled pork was cold and it was just OK. Nothing the write home about to me. It was mediocre

The Galleria is a great food court with lots of choices. So it was surprising that Dottys BBQ was so mediocre. I got their 1 meat special that included 2 spare ribs, and sides of cole slaw and baked beans with burt ends. It also included a scoup of pickes and a slice of bread. With a bottle if Acquafina, my bill cane to $26 which seems like a lot for lunch. I should point out that the $26 included a 15% tip for the guy who took my order at the counter and then apparently forgot all about it until i returned 15 minutes later, wondering why it takes so long to take a few scoops of food and put them on a tray. 15% was the lowest choice without going through some convoluted procesd to try and give him less. Mind you, this is as i am standing at the counter and have just given him my order. If all goes according to plan, my buzzer will beep and he will then hand me my order on a tray a few minutes later. If hes tracking his steps for fitness, maybe he'll add three in order to serve me. My point is, there isnt much opportunity for any upside of delightful service, but here i am confronted with choices of how much to tip - 15, 20, or 25%. And the service was poor, despite my 15% i

We were on the road from a long trip and this place is definitely worth the stop! Best loaded potatoes and barbacoa brisket Iβve ever had. Delicious sauces! Place is located inside a food market place where others can also choose other options to eat like tacos, burgers or asian.

This is the best BBQ in the area, the staff are amazing and truly deliver high quality meals. Some of the best Brisket and Beans I've ever had. Also has great pulled pork and mac n cheese. Recently had limited time Beef Ribs and it might've been one of the best things I've eaten overall. The beef rib was so tender and just fell off the bone and melted as I ate it. Also have to add I'm not sure which Mustard it was, but one of them is literally liquid gold and went greatly with the beef rib.

The best BBQ in the capital region. I tried several BBQ places in Albany and Troy but Dotty Lou's takes the cake. I have ordered take out from them several times over the course of 2025 and it was exceptional. Anytime I call them and ask questions or make a minor change to my order they are friendly. Wonderful service. The only minor critique I have is I wish the brisket's and pork belly fat was rendered slightly more. Otherwise it is incredibly delicious. I will continue to order and hope to come in person someday soon to comment on the atmosphere.
